H\u00fcbl (BOKU University, Austria)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sponsor: Martin Rasmussen, Copernicus.org https:\/\/www.copernicus.org\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The 2nd interdisciplinary meeting took place in Vienna and Lower Austria bringing together experts from Germany, Italy, Austria, the USA and New Zealand to exchange knowledge on wildfire-induced geohydrological changes. The meeting focused on the latest research findings, risk assessment approaches, and mitigation strategies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The excursion to Hirschwang (Lower Austria) examined the effects of the most recent and so far largest wildfire in Austria Special attention will be given to the fire impacts on vegetation, soil stability, water retention, erosion dynamics, and post-fire recovery processes.
